King Faisal has won three straight games in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) after a tight 2-1 victory over Accra Lions on Sunday afternoon.
The home team has struggled to compete from the start of the season, but they have gotten better in the last two contests.
With a strong setup for today’s match, King Faisal entered it hoping to win three crucial matches in a row.
The team put up a great performance, and Samuel Adom Antwi’s goal in the 37th minute gave them a 1-0 lead over the Accra Lions at halftime.
Three minutes after halftime, the talented attacker Abednego Tetteh added a second goal to give the hosts a larger lead.
In an effort to score a third goal, King Faisal, who now had the upper hand in the match, took control of play.
The visitors, though, were the ones who scored the next goal. The Accra Lions had a chance to react thanks to Frederick Asante, but they were unable to create a successful comeback and trailed 2-1 at the break.
The outcome has lifted King Faisal out of the Ghana Premier League relegation zone, with Accra Lions presently third on the list.
