Alhaji Karim Grusah, a member of the Black Stars Management Committee, believes Ghana will triumph over Portugal in their World Cup opener in 2022.
The proprietor of King Faisal FC was forceful in his assertion that Ghana’s victory over Switzerland in a friendly on November 17, 2022, sends a powerful message.
Speaking with broadcast journalist and head of sports at Imax Media Group, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Alhaji Grusah claimed that the Black Stars might have sent a message to the Portuguese with a draw against Switzerland instead of winning.
“Switzerland beat Portugal, they beat France and Spain. Even drawing with them would’ve sent signals but beating them sends more signals. Yes, they(Portugal) will be careful…We have a chance, we are going to beat Portugal. Inshallah,” he said on Black Stars Diary on Max TV .
At Stadium 974 (Rass Abou Aboud) in Doha, Ghana’s World Cup run will get underway against the Euro 2016 Champions Portugal in a challenging match.
Ghana, which is in the challenging Group H with South Korea, Portugal, and Uruguay, would like to avoid losing in order to increase their chances of making it out of the group.
