Croatia beat Morocco 2-1 to claim the bronze medal at the FIFA World Cup in 2022 thanks to a fantastic winner from Mislav Orsic.
Morocco didn’t receive a medal to top off a great season that included some astounding triumphs.
Josko Gvardiol’s goal in the seventh minute gave Croatia the lead after Majer’s original set piece was touched on by Perisic.
Two minutes later, Morocco struck back through Achraf Dari, who headed in from close range after Hakim Ziyech deflected a free kick.
On the cusp of halftime, the Croats restored the lead after Orsic expertly bent a shot in from just inside the box as the ball struck the far post before going in.
As Morocco was unable to get an equalizer in the second half, the goal ended up being the game’s decider.
Following their second-place result in 2018, Croatia is now standing on the podium.
Morocco, meanwhile, becomes the first African team to finish in the top four at a World Cup.
