With just days to kick off the 2022 Fifa World Cup Finals in Qatar, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) led a big for the Black Stars of Ghana.
The massively attended walk which was headlined ‘Walk with the Legends’, literally brought Aburi Hills to a standstill.
Sponsored by Betpawa as part of the final World Cup Countdown and awareness creation, the walk was a huge success
The Gfa President Kurt Okraku led the event with Sports Minister Ussif Mustapha on Saturday 29th October, 2022 which also had supporters Unions and football fans walking along with jamma and brass band music.
Dozens of retired Black Stars players, media personalities and other dignitaries completed the 1 hour walk.
Joining the Gfa Capo was his Vice President Mark Addo and Vice Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee Akwasi Agyemang from Ayi Mensah right up to the Aburi Hills.
Other stars were leaders from the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) such as Sammy Tuga Kufour, Awudu Isaka, Isaac Vordah, John Painstil, Derek Boateng, Asamoah Gyan, Augustine Arhinful, Jerry Akaminko and Richard Kingston.
The rest were Kwame Ayew, Rev. Osei Kofi, Edward Ansah, Sam Johnson, Leayea Kingson, Yaw Acheampong, Peter Ofori Quaye, Maxwell Konadu, Emmanuel Armah Senegal, Frimpong Manso, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu and Prince Tagoe.
The Black Stars under Coach Otto Addo are set for a record 4th appearance at the World Cup and will face Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in a tough Group H.
