Young Ghanaian boxers have been exhorted to maintain discipline and concentrate on improving their skills by Naana Adiki Manyeyo Adi I, Queen Mother of the Adibiawe Clan in Ada.
On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, Naana Adike gave a statement at the awarding of cars to De Luxy Professional Boxing League champions. She praised the young fighters for showcasing exceptional skill and warned them not to take it easy.
The champion for health and education also commended Premium Motors for their dedication to upholding their corporate social responsibility, which, in her opinion, has substantially benefited her community.
Their passion to boxing, according to the queenmother, will produce world champions for the nation.
Naaa Adikie noticed Premium Motors constantly helped the neighborhood with the planning of the renowned Asafotufiami event.
“I want to congratulate the winners to be more disciplined and work harder so that we can have a bigger and greater win for Ghana.”
Mustapha Ussif, the Minister of Youth and Sports, attended the occasion and gave the GBA praise for restarting boxing.
“I commended the leadership of the Ghana Boxing Authority for reviving the boxing league and also securing cooperate sponsorship to support the sport.
“While encouraging more corporate institutions to come on board to support the development of sports, I also urged sports federations to prioritize branding and marketing, in order to make sports products more attractive to corporate institutions.”
After 10 rounds of competition, Charles Tetteh emerged victorious. He was awarded the championship by a unanimous decision of the judges, who gave him scores of 99–91, 99–89, and 99–92.
