AFCON 2023: CAF receives record media accreditation applications

Date:

The Confederation of African Football has received a record number of media accreditation applications from all over the world for the upcoming Total Energies African Cup of Nations tournament scheduled to commence from January 2024 in Ivory Coast.

Over 5,000 applications have be made so far, compelling the Confederation to come up with quotas for countries due to increasing demands.

CAF, in its intent on protecting media rights holders, will introduce specific guidelines for non-rights holders and to enforce restrictions on filming and other activities around the event.

What to know about the quotas:

Host nation: 30%
Participating countries: 35%
Regional (neighbouring) countries: 10
Rest of the world (countries): 25
