Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones lost against Seydou Konate of Senegal on Saturday, September 9, in a qualification match for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
The UK-based boxer received an invitation to represent Ghana. However, he lost to his opponent in his middleweight division (80kg) in Dakar, Senegal, causing a huge setback in his chances to represent his country of origin at the following Olympic Games.
In the crucial fight, Konate used his defensive prowess to defeat Gyimah after his usual power punches against his opponent were ineffectual.
According to sources from his camp, the hard-hitting boxer was upset after the loss but has promised not to back down.
Despite the setback, Freezy MacBones still has a chance to bounce back in the playoff, where he may face opponents from several countries for a spot in Paris 2024.
