Slavko Matic, the head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, feels that their 2022/2023 Ghana Premier League (GPL) matchday 17 victory over Berekum Chelsea was merited.
On February 11, 2023, dominant Accra Hearts of Oak picked up their winning streak once more and moved up to second place in the Premier League standings after defeating Berekum Chelsea 3-1 at home.
Accra Hearts of Oak, who were very wasteful, easily won the game with to two goals from Benjamin York, one each from Victor Aidoo and Kusi Pandrous, as well as an own goal from Zakaria Fuseni.
After the game, Slavko Matic congratulated his team on a job well done while maintaining that the day’s triumph belonged to the superior team.
“I’m proud of my players for the performance today and I think the better team won today. We deserve this win. We dominate with the ball, we create a lot of opportunities, lots of shots and I can say in the end we won,” he said.
After this victory, Accra Hearts of Oak are now second in the league standings with 28 points, while Berekum Chelsea are still in tenth place with 22 points after 17 games of the current campaign.
