Coach Annor Walker expressed his displeasure with the Black Galaxies for their poor showing in their opening matchup against Madagascar in the CHAN 2023 competition.
Madagascar, who is competing in the event for the first time, made a valiant effort to surprise the Black Galaxies, who fell behind 2-1.
Coach Annor Walker, who was disappointed after the game, said that his players made numerous terrible errors that led to the team’s defeat.
“I think my boys disappointed me in the first half and I take it as one of those things that happen in football. We were well prepared for this game but minor mistakes cost us the game,” the coach said.
Solomampionona Koloina’s initial shot was stopped by goalie Danlad Ibrahim, but he was able to score on the rebound.
After the half, the Malagasy team increased their lead by two goals when Augustine Randolf made a mistake on defense and allowed Tokinantenaina Olivier to score.
After replacing Randolf in the game, Asante Kotoko defender Augustine Agyapong helped the Black Galaxies cut the deficit with an inswinger.
