The Black Galaxies of Ghana and Algeria battled to a scoreless draw on Saturday in their penultimate friendly up to the 2022 CHAN.
The eagerly anticipated game was played at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers as both nations prepared for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) event that will take place in Algeria.
The Galaxies had already defeated the Egyptian U-20 team 2-0 and Al Ahly 3-1 when they took the field for their third trial match.
In both half of the game, both teams had fantastic opportunities, but they failed to take advantage of them.
Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim made a commendable save in the 50th minute to foil a great North African counterattack and save them from scoring.
Tuesday’s final test match between Ghana and Mozambique will take place prior to their arrival at their camp in Costantine.
The seventh edition of the CHAN tournament will take place in four cities from January 13 through February 4, 2023.
Ghana’s campaign will get underway on January 15 with a game against Madagascar. On January 19 and January 23, respectively, Ghana will play Sudan and Morocco.
