“I’ll find the people responsible for this. I’ll make them pay for what they did to Onyok. And for what they did to the other victims. I’m going to lead my own investigation. I’ll make the ones responsible for this pay.”
Cardo regains consciousness and carries Onyok out of the debris amidst the other victims. Meanwhile, Jerome is informed of the explosion at carnival mall. Alyana and Pinggoy, her cameraman just so happen to be there and they follow the police to the place.
Onyok is brought to the hospital just as Jerome and his men arrive at the crime scene to witness the carnage. Alyana covers the story as the wretched congressman and his despicable wife watch on TV. The miserable bomber and his equally miserable mother also see their handiwork. Melencio confronts them about the incident and Linda starts spouting some crap.
Cardo is in a daze, and so is the rest of the family as Onyok is being operated on. Cardo recalls the first time he met the boy back in Botolan, the adoptive parents he had found for him and the time he had saved him from the fire at the orphanage. A series of flashbacks shows the other memories they had together. Presently, Flora and Cardo comfort each other.
At the new Tuazon residence, Cita brings up the mall explosion. Clueless Rachel is thankful that her miserable father stopped them from going there. Verna spouts some unintelligent bullsh*t. However, Cita, who seems to know the deal, prays for the fantastic deaths of the “heartless criminals” behind the bombing. Tomas and his father-in-law remain silent like idiots.
“Sir, do you want some dessert?” Cita asks.
“Do you want me to die of diabetes?” Don Emilio shoots back.
Delfin arrives at the hospital to learn of Onyok’s condition. As the family wails, he asks them to get themselves together. “When my life was on the line, did you give up? The strength of this family… that’s what gave me the strength to fight, that’s what we should do for Onyok right now.”
While Don Emilio and Tomas make a toast to the success of the bombing distraction, Cardo and the rest of the family gaze silently at Onyok who’s still unconscious and confined to the bed. “I’ll make the ones responsible for this pay.”
Marlon reveals to his miserable mother the extra cash he made after planting the bomb himself. Meanwhile, the doctor informs Cardo and the others that Onyok suffers from shock injury, adding that he might have to undergo another surgery if his blood count drops. “The procedure is going to cost a lot, so you need to be ready for it.”
At CIDG headquarters, Carreon the master of dumb decisions asks joaquin the jackass to handle the investigations regarding the mall bombing incident. Back at the hospital, bloodied Cardo stares down at Onyok as Flora approaches. “I’ll find the people responsible for this. I’ll make them pay for what they did to Onyok. And for what they did to the other victims.”
With her cameraman, Alyana interviews some victims of the mall bombing. A pissed off Cardo saunters over to interrupt her. “Can’t you see I’m doing an interview?” the reporter whines.
“You shouldn’t take advantage of other people’s misery,” Cardo counters. “I know your job is important to you, but you have to think of the patients’ condition too.”
“I can’t. This is my job. I need to inform the people about…”
Cardo gives her a disgusted look and walks off. Staring after him, Alyana merely says, “Who does that guy think he is?”
“What a jerk,” Pinggoy adds. “He’s full of himself. Who was that?”
Joaquin the jackass reports the ongoing investigation to his accomplices. The miserable congressman plans on orchestrating a bigger bomb blast in the near future. Tomas is appalled at the idea, though his wretched father-in-law is all for it.
Jerome runs into Cardo at the hospital and informs him about the details of the investigation. He then offers his help and asks where he’s going.
“To Crame,” Cardo reveals. “I’m going to lead my own investigation.”
At CIDG headquarters, Delfin mentions that none of the terrorist groups have claimed responsibility for the mall bombing while the others aren’t responding. Cardo says they don’t need to wait for anyone to take responsibility. Joaquin the jackass tries to sidetrack him but Cardo persists and insists on seeing the mall CCTV footage himself since he was right there when the explosion happened. This time, Carreon uses his brain and seconds him.
While congressman Subito keeps on celebrating his supposed success, Cardo checks out the CCTV footage but doesn’t seem to get anything. Meanwhile, Melencio is taken by his miserable son and wife to undergo dialysis, just as some suspects are being interrogated about the mall bombing at the Quezon precinct. Cardo is certain they’re innocent though.
“I’m going to the mall to check their CCTV records,” Cardo says. “I might recall something.”
Just then, Alyana arrives with some snacks for the officers. Cardo rewards her with a death glare before leaving. Alyana then asks Jerome who “that arrogant guy” was. Jerome reveals that he’s a cop and had been there when the bomb went off at the mall. Alyana then brings up the confrontation at the hospital.
Jerome is amused. “If you would like to get your next big scoop, Dalisay is the man to go.”
A moment later, Alyana catches up with Cardo outside the precinct and “apologizes”. Cardo asks what she wants and she asks about the mall bombing but Cardo says he can’t help her at the moment. However, Alyana signals her cameraman to begin recording and she starts throwing a bunch of questions at him.
Cardo parries the microphone out of his face. “Don’t you play me for a fool, because I’m not stupid.” And with that, he storms off.
Onyok still hasn’t regained consciousness when Cardo arrives at the hospital. In his somewhat comatose state, the boy relives the heart-wrenching incident. He suddenly wakes up, and a moment of silence rocks the room. “Cardo, help me,” Onyok sobs. “Help me, Cardo. Please, Cardo…”
Having asked Yolly to call in the doctor, Cardo hurries over to the boy’s side and assures him that he’s safe. The episode ends as Cardo consoles Onyok as he cries.
