Alyana ranting and barking at Cardo for failing to reach out to them to confirm whether he was alive or not. Our favourite hero argues that he had done so for their own safety. Alyana then questions him about the woman and child she had spotted him with at the hospital before, foolishly demanding to know whether he has a new family. Cardo explains matters and mentions how he had found out about how the SAF had been tipped off by a government official back then, thus their defeat at the hands of the rebels. A moment later at a church, he informs her of his mission in Manila.
“I have to see my mission through,” our favourite hero intones.
“So why are you here now?” Alyana asks.
“I need to do something here in Manila. I think I’m close to finding the answers I’m looking for.” And with that, our favourite hero bids goodbye to his wife before parting ways with her.
While Senator De Silva and his important guests are en route to the event grounds at Valio Blanca, Cardo communicates with Catindig as to what to do. A goon brings him a bag to deliver inside and hand it over to Senator De Silva in person. Cardo asks of the content but the guy deflects his question. Once De Silva arrives, he greets the indigenous folks and proceeds to study a copy of his speech which Victor, his brother hands him. At the rebel camp, Anton continues to bug Homer with his suspicion of Fernan (Cardo) being a traitor to their cause. He asks whether he trusts him and Homer replies in the affirmative.
Senator De Silva is called up to the stage and he goes ahead to deliver his speech, beginning by expressing his appreciation to the people for their undying support. He then announces his intention of running for senator again in the next elections and as the people cheer in support, Cardo is stopped by security when he tries to bring the bag inside. They insist on checking the content of the bag before allowing him to pass through. As expected by viewers, they find a bomb inside, 8 seconds and counting down. Cardo stares in shock and after a moment, he recovers, snatches the bag and launches it into the air where it explodes. Fortunately, no one gets hurt.
The security guards attempt to apprehend our favourite hero but he fights them off and escapes. De Silva and his men go after him, guns blazing. At the PNC media house, Alyana overhears her boss asking a coworker to head over to Valio Blanca and find out what’s happening there and interview Senator De Silva. Recalling Cardo’s words, she hurries out. Meanwhile, our favourite hero evades the persistent attacks of De Silva and his men. Eventually, Cardo outsmarts them and manages to escape. At home, Paco, Elmo and the others discuss the bombing incident at Valio Blanca, all assuming that Bloody Sun is behind it. Captain Gina spies.
“We should all just calm down and wait for updates,” Grandma Flora admonishes. “Please stop jumping to conclusions.”
While Cardo rides a bus back to the mountains, resolved and deep in contemplation, Alyana arrives at the crime scene with Pinggoy in tow. Upon finding Jerome and Soriano, she reveals to them her run-in with Cardo earlier. Gaspar drives General Oligario home and makes known his intention of voting for both Senator De Silva and the despicable Director Hipolito. Back in Valio Blanco, De Silva addresses the press on the recent happening as Hipolito and Catindig watch the live telecast. The two partners in crime begin lamenting over how their failed attack has given the senator an arsenal to use in his advantage.
“His popularity will skyrocket, thanks to us,” Hipolito grumbles. “I know he has ambitions of winning the presidency after completing his final term as a senator.”
“You’ll have to compete with him for that too?”
“I am not going to let that happen, Manolo.”
“This is all Scorpion’s fault,” Catindig mutters. “He has failed us on this mission.”
Cardo finds his allies on his way to the rebel camp and he goes ahead to recount his recent adventures.
“Now I have an idea who was responsible for my son’s death,” Cardo intones. “I have a strong hunch it was Homer’s group all along. So this time I’m going to make damn sure…that I make him pay for what he did to my son.”
While Director Hipolito discusses with his subordinates the recent bombing in the city, bitching nonstop, Fernan (Cardo) returns to the rebel camp to give a report to Father and the commander on his supposed patrol of the forest, all the while giving Homer a wary look. Meanwhile, Diana discusses with Hipolito the strange incident at Valio Blanca where the suspect had brought the bomb out and thrown it away from the crowd so it wouldn’t hurt anyone. The despicable director accuses Bloody Sun of the terror attacks but Diana speculates that it could be another group or person responsible.
“It’s also possible,” Diana mentions. “That an enemy or political rival of De Silva’s was behind this.” That’s right, General. You’re talking to the scumbag in question.
The slimy scoundrel Hipolito stares dumbly and urges Diana to get some rest. We’re all disgusted and on the brink of puking as Diana lets the scumbag hug her and spout some nonsense. Meanwhile, Senator De Silva has a talk with his brother and a number of his men, hell-bent on seeing his dream of becoming the president to the end. At the Dalisays, Delfin recounts the bombing incident at Valio Blanca. Alyana asks of the clothes the suspect had been wearing which she learns is the exact match of her husband’s outfit when she had seen him earlier.
“Why do you ask?” Grandma Flora asks.
“Just curious.”
Catindig berates Homer for the job that had gone terribly wrong and refuses to pay him or give him any further jobs in the future. The group of scumbags are quiet upset to lose their source of income. As they crucify Fernan (Cardo) for ruining their stupid business, our favourite hero startles awake after having another otherworldly encounter with his departed son.
“It won’t be long, son. I’ll avenge your death soon. I’m going to make them all pay for what they did to you. I won’t let them get away.”
Alyana catches up with Delfin on his way out and reveals to him her encounter with Cardo earlier, as well as what he had said about a government official in cahoots with Bloody Sun. She then mentions that the person who had planted the bomb at Valio Blanco was probably Cardo since the description of the suspect matches the exact clothes he had been wearing when they had met up. While Venom (Homer’s group) debates on the trustworthiness of Fernan (Cardo), Director Hipolito expresses his outrage to Catindig over Senator De Silva’s sudden increase in popularity. Mateo basks in the moment at his mansion.
“They’ll still keep coming after you,” Victor, his brother cautions. “They won’t stop until you’re out of the way.”
“Senator, you don’t have to worry about that,” chimes in one of his men. “Because your security detail is much bigger now.”
“Don’t make it too obvious,” De Silva says. “People might notice we have our own private army.”
“They’ll understand, because everyone needs a saviour nowadays. Just like we’ve been told by the business sector that you’re the saviour of our economy.”
“What are you saying?”
“Your campaign will get a lot of support. All the major players will help fund it.”
“Opportunistic bastards,” De Silva grumbles. “They’re just on board because they know I’ll win.”
“Catindig,” Hipolito admonishes. “I hope you realize that we have to take action now.”
“I’m trying to contact Scorpion, but I’ve been having a hard time.”
“No!!!” Hipolito barks like a rabid dog. “If we try to make a move right now on De Silva and he gets away again, he will have the people’s sympathy, you fool!!!”
Catindig silently moves his ear away from the phone for safety’s sake.
“And even if we do kill the guy, it will become a huge issue for national security. And people will say I failed at my job, Manolo! We need to destroy him, so find dirt on him – anything we can use to make sure Dalisay goes down, do you understand?!!!”
Catindig keeps his annoyance in check. “Yes, sir.”
Hipolito sighs. “Alright.”
