ESTRANGED DADDY/FATHER IN-LAW/GRANDPA RETURNS AND EVIL TOM GETS ROBBED
Edgar is bored with Joaquin’s attitude and indifference towards Junior. Nora insinuates that the jackass is out desperately looking for those responsible for their daughter’s death. Ryan however is certain that Cardo is doing just that. Meanwhile, Makmak finds out about the shooting incident at Cardo’s home from an excited old neighbor.
Cardo thanks Glen and Jerome for helping out with the license plates. Flora leaves a reluctant Onyok to patrol the house. At the town hall, some officers announce that they’ll be setting up checkpoints on certain streets. Flora gives a talk on safety and thanks the neighbors for all their support on account of the shooting incident. After everyone is dismissed, Makmak makes his presence known.
Tomas happily closes a business deal with a client. A moment later on the road, his driver spots someone following them and points it out. Soon enough, Tomas comes face to face with their pursuer and is chilled to the bone.
“Tomas, Tomas,” the old man taunts. “What you did was plain stupidity. You were able to judge the ambush but you drove it to a very narrow dead end. Big mistake. You could have been a sitting duck, my boy.”
“Don Emilio.”
“Have you forgotten what I taught you, my boy? You’re getting rusty. I may need to teach you another lesson.”
Banjo calls Ray and asks him to have the licence plates ready for their arrival. A moment later, Cardo arrives at Ray’s shop with Benny. Meanwhile, Rigor begins his usual foolishness at the Quezon precinct. Glen agrees to have Jerome drive her home again.
Tomas arrives home with a very unpleasant surprise for Verna – papa Emilio, who declares that he’s back for good, then promises to make it up to them. Verna grudgingly dismisses him.
Cardo has the guys check his motorbike. He tries to pull one over Ray, claiming that he’s come to get some license plates on Banjo’s recommendation. As Cardo tries to convince him that they do riding in tandem jobs, Charlie spots him and tips off Ray with a text.
“Riding in tandem?” Ray offers.
“Aha,” Benny cuts in.
“License plates?”
“Ah yup.”
“You wait for me here. I’ll get you what you really need.”
“They’re taking too long, chief,” Benny comments after some time.
“Don’t blow our cover,” Cardo hisses.
Ray comes out with the other guys and open fire. Cardo and Benny duck just in time. A gun battle ensues, with Benny knocking out a goon in such comical manner. Billy, Chikoy and Vargas back up Cardo and they soon lay waste to the scumbags and capture Charlie. Benny puts on another comical show and Billy beats Charlie silly.
“Where is Lorenz hiding?”
“I don’t know a thing.”
“Which idiot killed my sister?” Billy asks.
Charlie insists that he knows nothing.
“So you won’t confess? Tell the truth. I’m going to kill you.”
Cardo intervenes just then and the scoundrel promises to show him where Banjo is hiding. While Flora tries to curb Onyok’s overzealous acts of protection, some officers drag Makmak in. Flora has him released.
Glen looks on in wonder as her family fawn over Jerome and even tries to make him stay over for dinner. After the officer leaves, she scolds them and insists that they aren’t dating.
Banjo and Lorenz arrive at Ray’s shop to learn that it’s been raided. They slip away. Meanwhile, Delfin is open to having Benny as Cardo’s asset upon learning that he had helped Cardo earlier. He then scolds Billy for assaulting Charlie Maliby.
“So what is your plan now?”
“We’re going to interrogate Maliby,” Cardo replies. “We’ll pressure him to get information that will lead our whole team to Banjo and Lorenz’s hideout.”
Arriving home, Benny brags about being a police asset. When Onyok asks that they save some of the dish he made for Cardo, Flora informs him that Cardo will be staying over at the office to finish up all his work.
“What kind of work?” Onyok asks.
Flora gropes for an explanation. “Ah…”
“Classified,” they all say in unison.
Edgar is upset that Billy had spared the life of “that criminal”. He starts throwing a fit. Meanwhile, Joaquin the jackass tries to dismiss Cardo so he can watch over Charlie. Cardo however insists on standing guard himself.
Somewhere at a bar, a waiter informs Emilio that they’re about to close the place. Emilio holds him at gunpoint. “Are you going to give me another shot, or should I shoot you in the forehead and give you an instant third eye?”
The poor guy cowers. “Of course, sir. I’ll give you another shot.”
The next morning, as Tomas is on his way to the bank, the Lightning Troop corner and open fire on him. Robbed and out of bullets, the goons are advancing when Don Emilio comes to his rescue. The gang retreat.
While Verna and Cita discuss about Emilio’s past adventures and crimes, Joaquin has a call from his father. Meanwhile, Glen arrives at the hospital with Jerome and Cardo asks her to cover for him while he goes to attend to some matters at the precinct.
Tomas and Emilio are being questioned by an officer about the shooting incident. The officer asks of Tomas’ father-in-law’s unlicensed gun. Emilio claims that he picked it up from one of the criminals who was killed. Joaquin the jackass arrives to rubbish the case.
“Joaquin, my grandson,” Emilio says.
Joaquin glances at his dad. He looks like he’s just seen a ghost. They soon start catching up, much to Tomas’ dismay.
The Lightning Troop are celebrating their good fortune and planning on expanding their gang. Meanwhile, Joaquin the jackass makes it his mission to fool his comrades into believing that the attack on his father only had one motive – robbery.
“But it’s also possible that they did that because they know your dad is Carmen’s father-in-law,” Chikoy chimes in.
“But what for?” Vargas asks. “To scare off Delisay?”
“That’s impossible,” Cardo declares. “I hardly have any connection with Mr. Tomas. Getting revenge seems too farfetched.”
“I’m going to look into that angle too,” Joaquin the jackass says. “But I’m telling you all, my guts tells me that these men are responsible for my wife’s death.”
