Rachel discovers the terrible truth
“Rachel, you have to accept it. All the things you’re enjoying – the schooling, the clothes, the cars, this house. Everything we have came from our family business. And it’s not Papa Tom’s. It’s our drug business.”
Apollo charges his men for attack, rambling on and on about how he had been betrayed. At the Tuazons, Tomas walks in as Verna is about to tell Rachel the truth about the family business. He begins with his innocent act and Verna reveals the truth anyway, though Rachel doesn’t believe her thanks to Tomas. Meanwhile, Cardo arrives home and informs the family of the incident earlier with Eric.
Thinking that her mother is going out of her mind, Rachel asks her beloved father to do something to help her. At the hospital, Alyana introduces Cardo to her family. Lorraine is being interrogated by the principal on the account of the rumors going on about her. She insists that she doesn’t do drugs and the principal says she’d have to undergo a drug test to prove it. Later, JP comes to apologize to her but she ignores him.
The CIDG deliberate on some cases from the president’s watch list involving government officials as well as some police officers dealing in drugs. Cardo urges everyone else to work together to restore their good reputation and regain the public’s trust.
Verna packs up her and her daughter’s things to leave the house. Rachel expresses her disagreement, not willing to leave her saint of a father and Cita drums in the fact that what her mother told her was the truth. Rachel confronts her dad about it and together with Joaquin, he spouts even more impressive lies to cover up the lame ones. Coming upon the scene, Don Emilio reveals to Rachel that everything her mother told her about her father and the business were all true.
Joaquin tries to do damage control. “Rachel, you have to accept it. All the things you’re enjoying – the schooling, the clothes, the cars, this house. Everything we have came from our family business.”
“And it’s not Papa Tom’s,” Don Emilio adds. “It’s our drug business.”
Rachel starts wailing and when she wouldn’t listen to her beloved father’s explanation, he goes on to shamelessly confront Verna while Rachel expresses her disgust about her brother being a criminal despite being a police officer. Eventually, she decides to leave with her mother. Don Emilio then decides to go after them to convince them to come back, and Tomas goes along with him.
While Rachel apologizes profusely to her mother for not believing her, Apollo and his scumbags tail them as Verna makes a promise of starting a new life. Soon enough, they’re intercepted on the road and Apollo and his scumbags open fire on them mercilessly. Coming upon the scene, Don Emilio and the Tuazons fight back. Apollo flees with rest of his scumbags as they’re being outnumbered. Tomas and Don Emilio rush over to behold the fate of Verna and Rachel.
Rachel ends up dead
Verna and Rachel go into surgery at the hospital. Subconsciously recalling the hideous revelation and how rotten her family truly is, Rachel’s heartbeat drops and refuses to revive. Meanwhile, Don Emilio reveals Apollo as one of the men who had shot Verna and Rachel. Tomas recounts how Don Emilio had betrayed the scumbag and they soon begin arguing until the doctor’s arrival. A moment later, Tomas wails over the dead body of his daughter.
“You ruined my life,” Tomas accuses Emilio. “You destroyed my family.”
Lorraine informs Mrs. Girona and Jerome about the situation at school, apologizing for the trouble. Jerome offers to go with her for the drug test and clear up the matter with the dean. As expected, the Tuazons soon begin planning their revenge. Emilio charges Joaquin the jackass not to allow the media or the PNP dig into the matter. Jackass promises to cover it up.
“We should get to Apollo before the PNP find that bastard,” Don Emilio says.
Cardo calls Joaquin the jackass to extend his condolences and offer his help, thinking that someone they had crossed in the line of duty was responsible for the tragedy. The jackass indulges him and soon orders his lapdogs to find his sister’s killer before Cardo does.
Verna regains consciousness at the hospital and Tomas makes her believe that Rachel is still in critical condition. Later, Emilio asks why he hadn’t told his daughter the truth and Tomas mentions that Verna would definitely report them to the police once she comes to learn the truth. Secretly, Don Emilio vows to deal with Tomas soon. Alyana arrives at camp Crame with her dad and some takeaways to thank Cardo again. Cardo asks Alyana if she has any other reason for coming and she mentions the case about the Tuazon family and Cardo makes it clear that they can’t release any information.
Delfin joins them just then and Alyana greets him. But what takes Cardo by surprise is when Teddy salutes him by saying, “sir Delfin”. Delfin stares wide-eyed as if he’s seen a ghost. “Teddy Arevalo.”
Cardo looks confused. “Grandpa, so you know Mr. Teddy?”
“We don’t just know each other,” Delfin replies. “He was a good friend of your father.”
And now its Teddy’s turn to look confused. “I know Cardo’s father?”
“Cardo here uses a different surname. But he’s the son of Pablo de Leon.
Teddy stares in disbelief, nodding his head in comprehension.
