“He was supposed to retire in just a few years. What a waste. While we’re still around, we should do everything we possibly can to stop all those criminals. Because eventually, we cops retire. But those dangerous crooks do not!”
The sniper aims at his target and eventually terminates him. While the wretched Tuazon family is having dinner together, Don Emilio makes fun of Tomas’ injury. Verna proceeds to taunts him with the help she’s offering the patients at the rehabilitation center and how he’s turned into an addict himself. Concurrently, Jerome and Glen arrive at the murder scene.
Arriving at his hideout, the killer crosses out the PNP officer he just assassinated. One down, a whole lot more to go. (This guy seems like a literal pain in the ass).
At a restaurant, Benny orders for a glass of water since he can’t afford anything on the menu. A gorgeous college student is denied her plea to resume work part-time. Benny bumps into her on her way out. Their IDs get tangled up and Benny is left in a trance at the mere sight of her. He then fakes an asthma attack and sinks to the floor comically as he watches the girl, Marie leave.
Tomas sets out to get a new chemist who can make him his precious white magic. As he tries taking a hit of what’s left, the drug dodges his nose and kisses his face thanks to his driver’s wayward driving. Meanwhile, Cardo finds Benny drooling over Marie. He asks what the deal is and Benny says he’s met his soulmate. (Yeah, right).
“Ahhh. So who’s the lucky lady?”
“I went to the mall,” Benny croons. “Then I bumped into a girl.”
“And then?”
“We introduced ourselves.”
Cardo then asks the laughable question – “Is she human?”
“Yeah. She’s got a name too,” Benny shoots back.
Cardo’s a little surprised to learn that the girl is a student and that Benny intends to visit her in school. “Sleep it off, Benny,” he teases as he walks away. “You’re just daydreaming.” (Read my mind).
The assassin cleans and takes care of his weapon like a parent preparing their kid for a talent show. (Disturbing, right?) He then proceeds to stare at a photo of himself and a woman. At CIDG headquarters, chief Rodolfo of the PNP laments miserably over the loss of one of their finest officers, Col. Delmar. He then rambles on about how the poor guy had been a true gentleman and officer of the law.
Turns out that Hector is the name of the miserable assassin/police killer. A member of the car theft syndicate Delmar had been after commends Hector for a job done well. He then pays up the creep.
Delfin laments over del Delmar’s death and reveals to Cardo that Glen’s precinct is handling the case. “He was supposed to retire in just a few years. What a waste. While we’re still around, we should do everything we possibly can to stop all those criminals. Because eventually, we cops retire. But those dangerous crooks do not!”
Speaking of crooks, one contacts Hector and orders him to kill one major Plata, an officer who’s doing his best to have him imprisoned. Hector says the job is a piece of cake. Soon enough, he starts stalking his target.
At the Quezon precinct, Cardo deduces that Col. Delmar’s killer is a professional hired killer and not some common criminal. Meanwhile, Flora charges an already dressed up Benny to pick up the kids from school since she needs Elmo at the City Hall.
Benny arrives at the school – not Onyok and Makmak’s but Marie’s. He’s transfixed by her beauty again. He rents a car and showing it off as his own, he gives Marie some flowers, claiming that they’re from a friend of his who likes her. The idiot (sorry for my language) waits out till school ends to continue with his foolishness. Or perhaps it’s love or daydreaming?
Onyok and Makmak sit outside their school, waiting. They decide to do their homework to pass time. Soon enough, Benny snaps out of his foolishness and realizes that he’s late in picking up the kids from school. After a while, he arrives at the school to find it deserted.
Onyok and Makmak walk the streets, wondering why Cardo and Benny didn’t come to pick them up. While Flora is busy with Elmo and Yolly at City Hall, Cardo is appalled to learn of Benny’s foolishness. Now outside the school with him, Cardo calls to inform Flora of the situation.
Onyok and Makmak board a jeepney headed home, just as Cardo is giving Benny his signature death glare. Later, the jeepney driver makes his last stop only to find the kids asleep. He wakes them up.
“Can you tell us where we are?” Makmak asks.
“In Sta. Ana,” the driver replies. (Sta. Ana – pronounced as “Santa Ana”)
Makmak and Onyok exchange looks. “Sta. Ana?!”
Cardo scolds Benny as he keeps rambling a bunch of baseless excuses for his shortcoming. Somewhere in Manila, some officers find Onyok and Makmak on the streets. They decide to take them since it’s past 10pm. Refusing to give the officers an easy time, the kids run off. As luck will have it, they soon run into some neighborhood watchdogs who apprehend them. Back home, Flora, Yolly and Elmo are worried sick.
