Al Ahly’s first team trained at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday after arriving in Kumasi to play against Medeama as part of the fifth round in the CAF Champions League group stage.
The Al Ahly delegation had stayed on Wednesday at a hotel near Accra airport due to the circumstances the plane faced upon departure from Cairo airport and its inability to fly.
Al Ahly requested a postponement of the match against Medeama SC from the CAF after an accident involving the team’s plane occurred at Accra airport, preventing the aircraft from traveling to Kumasi and thus delaying the team’s arrival.
Al Ahly will be facing Medeama SC tonight as part of the fifth round of the group stage in the 2023–2024 CAF Champions League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Al Ahly currently tops Group D with six points, followed by Young Africans and CR Belouizdad with five points each. Medeama sits at the bottom with four points.
