Clifford Aboagye, a former Inter Allies star, has said that he has never been required to pay money to get called up to any national teams.
However, the attacking midfielder revealed he had heard of coaches accepting bribes when speaking on an Accra-based FM station.
He believes that their theories are merely conjectures with no basis in reality.
“I always hear about coaches taking bribes but I have never been asked to pay bribe and/or paid bribe to anyone to get a call up ever to the Black Stars in my life. I think they are just rumors,” Clifford Aboagye said in the interview on Friday.
Clifford Aboagye says he is prepared to support the Black Stars if selected for the national squad ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
One of the 32 nations competing at the upcoming Mundial is Ghana. The Black Stars will compete against Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea in Group H.
