Dr. Decius H. Chipande, the coordinator of the African Union Sports Council (AUSC), claims that the organizing committee for the African Games has been impressed by Ghana’s level of commitment to hosting the 13th African Games.
The African Union (AU), the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA), and the Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC) worked with the Local Organising Committee for the 13th African Games to announce a new date for hosting the Games in the West African nation on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
Dr. Chipande claims that the new date for the Games’ opening ceremony will be March 8th, 2024, and that the ceremony’s closure will take place on March 23rd, 2024.
The crew had just finished touring the various venues that will be used to hold the Games when the announcement was made.
The renowned Zambian administrator thanked the Government of the Republic of Ghana for its efforts to organize the Games while speaking to the media at the occasion.
