Former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has urged Ghanaians not to use Jojo Wallacott’s performance against Cameroon at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations as evidence against him.
Jojo Wallacott, the goaltender for Charlton Athletic, cannot be held responsible for Ghana’s goals conceded in the 2021 AFCON, according to Fatau Dauda, who believes that Wallacott embodies modern goalkeeping.
Jojo Wallacott, according to the former goalie for Legon Cities, is currently Ghana’s best player because of how well his skill set meshes with the team’s philosophy.
“I know folks will say that he conceded a lot of goals at the AFCON but if you look closely a lot of the goals scored were not his fault. He is a goalkeeper who has good technique and his tactical play is also very good.”
“He can play with his feet and his positioning is good as well. This is why he is the preferred choice of the coaches,” he said in an interview an Acccra-Based FM station .
Since making his Black Stars debut in a 2021 FIFA World Cup qualification against Zimbabwe under Milovan Rejevac, Jojo Wallacott has played in 10 matches.
