Ghana suffered a 3-0 defeat to Brazil but bounced back to defeat Nicaragua 1-0 in last month’s pre-World Cup friendly matches.
The four-time AFCON champions were placed in Tier 3—a group for teams with a 50/50 chance of moving on to the round of 16—as a result of their loss and tight victory over the international break.
Brazil and Argentina, two South American powerhouses that are favored to win the tournament in Qatar, are in Tier 1.
