Coach Otto Addo of the Black Stars has given some insight into the type of football Ghanaians may expect from him as the team’s technical director.
At a press conference on Tuesday, May 30, 2021, Otto Addo said that he is a tactically adaptable coach who sets up his team to exploit his opponent’s vulnerability.
He declined to say if he is an offensive or defensive coach, but underlined that his decisions are depending on the resources available to him.
“I adapt to the opponent, I take a close look at the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent, and based on that I play a system so it’s flexible. I have many styles,” Coach Otto Addo told journalists.
Otto Addo is training his team for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar.
On Thursday, June 1, 2022, the Black Stars will face the Barea of Madagascar at the Cape Coast Stadium.
After two draws in command of the team, Otto Addo is sure that he will win his first game against Madagascar.
“Anything is possible in football, of course we are the favorite but anything can happen. The energy is good at training, everyone wants to play and that’s the same energy we are bringing tomorrow,” coach Otto Addo told the press.
“I adapt to the opponent, I take a close look at the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent, and based on that I play a system so it’s flexible. I have many styles,” added Otto Addo.
