In their bout on Saturday, April 9, 2022, former IBO Lightweight Champion Emmanuel Gameboy Tagoe has said that he would give his American opponent Ryan Garcia a true dosage of Ghanaian boxing pepper.
Emmanuel Gameboy Tagoe said that his opponent has been talking big ahead of the bout, but that in the ring, he will give him a valuable lesson.
“That very day I think everybody will see that Ghana pepper, Ryan Garcia too will see the Ghana pepper,” Gameboy stated.
He added, “sometimes when you walk around and feel the fresh air, you talk anyhow but when you enter the ring then you will feel the Ghana pepper I’m talking about.”
The Ghanaian lightweight champion admitted that his opponent is afraid of him. He also stated that, despite being considered an underdog heading into the battle, he expects to make a big statement on Saturday.
“Ryan is scared for Saturday; I will try and give Ryan Ghana pepper. The way people see Ryan big, I see him small. I don’t know what he will bring into the ring but if Ryan beats me I will stop boxing, I have told my fans,” the former IBO champion said.
When Gameboy Tagoe and his opponent Ryan Garcia got caught in an argument on Wednesday, they were on the verge of exchanging punches.
The 33-year-old Ghanaian boxer has a record of 32 victories, 15 knockouts, and one loss. Ryan Garcia, 23, is unbeaten in 21 fights and has 18 knockouts on his record.
Emmanuel Gameboy Tagoe would be one step closer to a world championship chance in the Lightweight class later this year if he wins.
