Mr. Abraham Kotei Neequaye, the President of the Ghana Boxing Authority(GBA), predicts more exciting fights and excitement when the De-luxy Professional Boxing League returns on Saturday, June 11, 2022 with Fight Night 6.
On Monday, Hon. Alhaji Amin Lamptey, host of Max TV’s Boxing Arena, noted that while the boxers representing the clubs are unknown, the crowd is big, and the Bukom Boxing Arena is packed every Fight Night.
He applauded the gyms and boxers for consistently putting on a terrific show, as well as the healthy rivalry, highlighting John Quaye and the Soldier Boxer as two of the most entertaining boxers to watch.
He stated that more amateur and juvenile boxers will be given the opportunity to demonstrate their skills, and National Champions will defend their crowns.
He praised Ghana’s President, HE Nana Akufo-Addo, for agreeing to provide the GBA with a bus and pickup as part of the logistics to bring boxing to other parts of the country.
Mr. Fadi Fattal, Director at Imax Media Group, who was also present at the studio, praised the entire crew for their contributions to the production of the world’s first professional boxing league.
He also expressed gratitude to the sponsors and boxing enthusiasts.
He revealed that the Homowo Special Boxing Fight Night will take place in August, followed by the President’s Boxing Championship on December 26. He also revealed that the Security Services Boxing League will be launched soon as a side event to the De-luxy Boxing League, with fantastic prizes on offer.
The GBA has recently enjoyed good relations and friendly social responsibility with Alhaji Osumanu Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, the Christian Council, the Ga Manste, and the Presidency of the Republic of Ghana.
