The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has formally introduced betPawa as the new Ghana Premier League (GPL) headline sponsor.
On August 3, 2022, the GFA President Kurt Okraku and the majority stakeholder of betPawa, Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, commonly known as Mr. Eazi, attended the official contract ceremony at the headquarters of Ghana’s football.
The GFA and the betting company have a three-year, $6 million contract. The promotion of the Ghana Premier League will receive an annual investment of $2 million.
Each of the 18 clubs in the Ghana Premier League will earn a portion of the sponsorship money agreed upon with betPawa, according to the GFA.
The “Locker-room Bonuses,” a winning bonus package for each player and technical staff of a winning club in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), were implemented by the GFA as part of the agreement.
Immediately following the game, the funds will be deposited to each team member’s account.
The Ghanaman Soccer Center in Prampram will get an Astro-turf that will be called the betPawa pitch thanks in part to the sponsorship. In October 2022, building is anticipated to begin.
The GFA is also anticipated to use some of the funds to sell and advertise the domestic league throughout Africa and elsewhere.
The two parties’ collaboration aims to promote the league and betPawa as global leaders on the African Continent.
Since almost seven years ago, the Ghana Premier League (GPL) has been without a League title sponsor.
