Ghana’s Black Stars coach, Chris Hughton has been mandated to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) in Ivory Coast according Ghana Football Association Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum.
Asante Twum reverberated the Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif’s revelations at the launch of the 8th edition of the Ramadan Cup some weeks ago, on the set targets for the new Black Stars Head Coach where he outlined them.
But according to the spokesperson of the GFA, despite the set target the gaffer first mission is to qualify the team to the 2024 AFCON.
“Chris must qualify for the AFCON in Ivory Coast and develop and improve the various national teams. Chris also has some sense of supervision over the other national teams. That is why he’s often seen at local match centers,” he told Max 89.7FM
Meanwhile Chris Hughton has recorded a win and a draw in his first two games against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
