The Appeals Committee decided on Monday, September 18, 2023, to uphold the Elections Committee’s decision to disqualify George Afriyie from running for president of the Ghana Football Association.
The earlier ruling upholding Kurt Edwin Simon Okraku’s status as the lone candidate, enabling him to run unopposed and earn a second term in office, is upheld.
In order to appeal the ruling, George Afriyie, a former vice president of the Kwesi Nyantakyi administration, will now turn to the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
