Majeed Ashimeru, Antoine Semenyo, and four additional players have been called up for Ghana’s match against Nigeria, according to a statement made by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Baba Abdul Rahman, Samuel Owusu, Richmond Boakye Yiadom, and Kamaldeen Sulemana are the other four players.
These six players, however, were unable to go to Ghana to participate for the Black Stars in the forthcoming double-header against Nigeria in the African qualifying round for the 2022 FIFA World Cup owing to injury.
“Majeed Ashimeru, Antoine Semenyo, Baba Abdul Rahman, Samuel Owusu, Richmond Boakye Yiadom and Kamaldeen Sulemana were all handed call ups to the senior national team and were expected to report to camp on March 20, 2022 but failed to join the rest of the squad due to injuries at the respective club sides,” part of the GFA communique on Tuesday night reads.
In the meanwhile, the GFA wishes all six players a quick recovery.
