The maiden edition of the Ghana Futsal Premier League has been launched today, April 11, 2023, at the Ghana Football Association.
Present at the function was the President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kurt Okraku, and members of the Ghana Futsal committee.
The Chairman of the Ghana Futsal Committee assured members and other stakeholders that the league will be a ‘proper’ one.
He also urged Ghanaians to consider coming on board to build a standard futsal hall.
The President of the Ghana Football Association, Mr. Kurt Okraku, firstly, thanked everyone for being present at the launch.
Nicknamed ‘the game changer’, Mr. Okraku informed members that the FA will ‘slowly’ and ‘gradually’ invest in the sport.
The winner of the league will walk away with a cash prize of GHC 10,000. The league’s 1st runner-up will take GHC 8,000, and 2nd runner-up, GHC 5, 000.
The President of the FA revealed 50% of the GHC 10,000 to be given to each of the sixteen clubs has been paid.
The sixteen participating clubs are Real Heart FC, Blessed Stars, Future Stars FC, King Solomon FC, AMG FC, Dokota FC, Gadu FC, Y2K FC, DANAC FC, Stitch in Time, AuxanoFC, Cancheros FC, Adenta Youth FC, San Siro FC, Blessed Kickers FC, and Blooming Smiles FC.
Bawaleshie and Lashibi will be the match centres for the league which is scheduled to commence from April 22, 2023.
