Daniel Afriyie Barnie scored a brace as Hearts of Oak beat AshantiGold 2-1 in a Ghana Premier League (GPL) match day 21 game.
Hearts of Oak went into the game not only for the three points but revenge on their minds as well.
They won a penalty early in the game when Isaac Mensah was brought down in the box.
Daniel Afriyie Barnie stepped up and converted it beautifully in the 14th minute to make it 1-0.
AshantiGold pushed men forward in search of the equalizer and Aminu Adams’ header in the 25th minute made it 1-1 before half time.
After the break Hearts of Oak had were dominant and that paid off as Kofi Kodzi set up Afriyie Barnie who hit a ferrocious effort into the net to make it 2-1.
There were no more goals from either side and the game ended 2-1 in favour of Hearts of Oak.
Hearts of Ok are now 6th on the GPL table with 32 points and Ashgold lie 13th with 25 points.
