Ghanaian athlete, Sean Safo-Antwi, is disappointed that his country was disqualified from the 4x100m finals of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Sean Safo-Antwi placed third in Heat 2 to advance to the finals alongside Benjamin Azamati, Barnabas Ageh, and Abdul Rasheed Saminu.
With a time of 39.05s, the men’s team placed third in Heat 2 to earn a spot in the finals.
Sean Safo-Antwi and his squad won’t, however, be competing in the finals because Ghana was disqualified for the Ghana Athletics Association’s (GAA) failure to follow the rules of procedure.
“I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS!”, disappointed Safo-Antwi took to Twitter to vent his frustrations.
According to a report by Citi FM’s Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo, team Ghana has been disqualified for not notifying the organizers at least an hour before swapping Joseph Paul Amoah with Abdul Rasheed Saminu.
I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS! ????
