AshantiGold’s injunction lawsuit has been postponed by the Human Rights Court until Thursday, October 20, 2022.
After the Ghana Football Association (GFA) attended the hearing on Friday, October 14, 2022, the court was unable to render a decision in the matter.
This indicates that the 2022–2023 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season is still on hold.
After the GFA found the club guilty of manipulating matches, AshGold summoned the GFA to the Human Rights High Court with charges of unjust downgrading by the GFA.
The Ghana Premier League 2022–2023 was the subject of an interlocutory injunction requested by The Miners, which was accepted.
Following Ashgold’s order, which was served on the GFA’s attorneys and filed at the Human Rights High Court, the GFA suspended the 2022–23 season on September 29, 2022.
AshantiGold was found guilty of match tampering by the GFA’s Disciplinary Committee in their home game versus Inter Allies during the 2020–2021 GPL season.
The DC suspended all of the players and officials involved and relegated the two clubs to the third division of the nation.
However, following their appeal at the highest sports judicial body, the athletes implicated have been given a stay of execution by the Court of Arbitration of Sports.
