In their matchday 16 contest against Samartex FC on Sunday afternoon at Akoon Park, Medeama SC put their previous sloppy form behind them.
Despite constant pressure from the home team Medeama, no goals were scored in the first half of the game.
Samartex were mostly primarily interested in stopping the Medeama threat during the early exchanges as they fended off waves of attack.
After the break, Jonathan Sowah of Medeama gave the team the lead in the 50th minute because of his meritorious efforts.
He consistently posed a threat to the Samartex defense, and his efforts were justly rewarded with a goal.
Then, in the 68th minute, Vincent Atingah expertly converted a penalty kick into the roof of the net to make it 2-0.
The victory has moved the Yellow and Mauves up to eighth place on the standings, while the Timber Giants were unable to close the gap and are now sitting in fourteenth place with 20 points.
