Hearts of Oak head coach Samuel Boadu has stated that his team’s performance against the Accra Lions was hampered by the injury of forward Kwadwo Obeng Jnr.
The striker made his Phobians debut on Friday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium, when the club faced the Ghanaian top-flight league’s matchday 26 opponent.
Unfortunately, he was forced to leave the game in the first half due to an injury.
Coach Samuel Boadu noted in a post-match interview that while Accra Lions played with ten men following the incident, Hearts of Oak also suffered.
“The red card didn’t help both teams because we lost Obeng in the game. He was really working hard in the game and it was obvious he could have created more scoring chances,” Coach Boadu argued.
A brace from Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and a goal from Isaac Agyenim Boateng powered Hearts of Oak to a 3-0 victory at the end of the 90 minutes.
