Accra Hearts of Oak, a powerhouse in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), has hired Serbian manager Matic Slavko as the team’s next head coach.
The Phobians make this appointment before their crucial match against Real Bamako of Mali in the second leg of the preliminary round of the 2022–2023 CAF Confederation Cup.
According to numerous sources, the UEFA Pro Licence-holding manager, 46, would be formally introduced before the match against the Malians on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After an unfavorable start to the 2022–23 season, he left the Bulgarian club Septemvri Sofia and is currently free.
Since taking over in January 2022, Matic has led Septemvri in 29 games, winning 12, drawing 7, and losing 10.
Accra Hearts of Oak enters the match against Real Bamako coming off a 3-0 loss in the first leg in Mali.
