The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League (GPL) match between Accra Great Olympics and Bibiani Gold Stars ended in an exciting 2-2 tie on matchday 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
With four minutes remaining in the game, Bibiana Gold Stars had a 2-0 lead, but two goals in two minutes from Emmanuel Antwi and substitute Aryeetey Ayikwei gave the “Dade Boys” a winnable point.
The visitors took the lead in the 27th minute when Richmond Opoku Manu scored from close range as they dominated the first half.
Great Olympics struggled throughout the game to generate any opportunities to put the Bibiani defense in danger.
With his very first touch of the game, substitute Ebenezer Aboagye increased the advantage for the Gold Stars by beating Great Olympics goalie Benjamin Asare with a beautiful finish.
However, Great Olympics midfielder Emmanuel Antwi cut the home team’s deficit in half with a close-range finish in the 86th minute following some shoddy goalkeeping by Joseph Baah.
To the pleasure of the home crowd, brilliant Olympic substitute Ayikwei finished off his team’s comeback in the 87th minute.
At the end of regulation time, both teams managed to hold on and split the points.
