On match day 18 of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League (GPL) , Nsoatreman and Asante Kotoko drew 0-0 at Nana Akromansan Park.
Asante Kotoko put up a fierce fight after losing to Dreams FC on matchday 17, and Nsoatreman was unable to fulfill its promise of defeating them 3-1 at home.
In addition to former Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan making his Asante Kotoko debut, coach Seydou Zerbo selected a potent starting team to take on Nsoatreaman.
Despite numerous opportunities, neither team was able to score in either half for the two teams.
Asante Kotoko were denied a chance at goal in the second half as center John Kofi blocked a shot from Steven Mukwala.
When it was determined that captain Richard Boadu had handled the ball in the penalty area with his hands in the 80th minute, Nsoatreman requested for a penalty, but the official disregarded those claims.
Following this outcome, Asante Kotoko temporarily moves into second place with 28 points in the league standings. Nsoatreman are currently in ninth place with 24 points.
