In the Ghana Premier League (GPL) on Sunday afternoon, Asante Kotoko put up a valiant effort to earn three significant points.
After giving up a goal early in the second half, the Porcupine Warriors battled back to defeat their opponent 2-1.
Today’s game between Asante Kotoko and Samartex FC was the fifth matchday match of the current campaign.
Prince Antwi scored four minutes after the break to give Samartex FC the lead following a scoreless first half.
Asante Kotoko needed to show resiliency to get back into the game after falling behind.
Prior to Augustine Agyepong’s goal for Samartex FC in the 86th minute sealing a 2-1 victory for his club, Nicholas Mensah had first restored parity for the hosts in the 78th minute.
Asante Kotoko are currently third in the Ghana Premier League after to the victory at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
