With a penalty kick goal in the 42nd minute, Michel Otou gave Legon Cities the lead.
In the eagerly anticipated matchup, Mohammed Suleman scored in the 60th minute to double Legon Cities’ lead.
The loss puts an end to Great Olympics’ undefeated streak in the current domestic premier division.
The Accra-based team had two draws and three victories prior to the encounter.
Great Olympics still has a chance to finish in the top four; they are currently in third place with 11 points.
With 10 points, Legon Cities has moved up to the fifth spot in the league standings.
