Accra Hearts of Oak managed to beat WAFA in a Ghana Premier League (GPL) match day 19 game.
Hearts went into the game on the back of a victory in the President’s Cup and they needed all three points.
The first half proved very difficult for them as they were frustrated by WAFA.
It ended goalless but Hearts were a different team in the second half.
Kojo Obeng Junior intelligently went pass the WAFA defence and slotted home to give Hearts a 1-0 lead.
WAFA responded with a goal of their own in the 55th minute.
Henry Owari’s free kick went past Richard Attah and it was 1-1.
Hearts of Oak had the final say as substitute Patrick Razak was brought down by WAFA goalkeeper Kwadwo Bonsu in the 73rd minute and it resulted in a penalty.
Sulley Muntari stepped and scored his first Hearts of Oak goal to make it 2-1 and the Phobians picked all three points.
