Renowned gospel musician Isiah Kwadwo Ampong, known in the showbiz fraternity as Great Ampong, has dispelled claims that he has received money to compose songs for a political party during this campaign season.
He charged the citizenry to treat the rumors about him receiving substantial sums of money from a political party in exchange for composing a campaign song as false.
Ampong expelled the claims and vehemently denied accepting any significant financial incentives from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to embark on a campaign with his song.
“Whoever said I have received money for a campaign song is dreaming; I haven’t been contacted or received any money to record a campaign song. Whether I choose to release a political song this year or not, my allegiance to the NPP remains steadfast,” he said.
Ampong’s allegiance to the NPP sheds light on the challenges artists face when their political leanings influence public perception, to an extent that sometimes overshadows their artistic endeavors.
He remained steadfast in his commitment to his musical career and personal beliefs while emphasizing the importance of maintaining integrity and authenticity in both his artistic expression and political affiliations, reflecting a principled approach to his craft.
