When the Phobians hosted AS Real Bamako on Sunday, rumors that former Hearts of Oak assistant coach Samuel Boadu went to the dressing room were refuted by Hamza Obeng.

According to earlier reports in the local media, Samuel Boadu, who was recently fired by the Ghanaian giants, spoke with the players in the dressing room after the first half.

Hamza Obeng, who worked as Samuel Boadu’s assistant coach, has refuted this.

“I would want to correct a wrong assertion. I was seated at the VVIP throughout the game with Boadu’s wife. Because it was creating a scene, he had to give in and join them on the field. I would want to place on record that, Boadu never went to the dressing room as being reported,” he said.

After failing to avenge their 3-0 loss against the Malians in the first leg a week prior, the rainbow boys were knocked out of the Confederation Cup on Sunday by Malian team Real Bamako.

Hearts of Oak defeated Real Bamako at the Accra Sports Stadium in the second leg of their match, winning 3-1 overall after the two legs thanks to a goal from Caleb Amankwah.
