iMax Media Group has won Corporate Award at the recently held 2022 SWAG awards.
The 47th Sports Writers’ Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards winners in the various categories were revealed.
The winners were named at a unique event that took place at the Accra International Conference Centre on January 28, 2023.
The Group Director of Imax Media Group, Alhaji Fadi Fattal received the Corporate Award for Imax Media.
Receiving the award, Alhaji Fadi Fattal said ” We’re not just going to have a boxing champion, but a World champion”
Juliet Bawuah was named the SWAG sports journalist of the year 2022.
Mohamed Kudus received the 2022 SWAG Sports Personality of the Year, and stood out among them.
Reps of Mohammed Kudos received the Footballer of the year (foreign) award on his behalf.
The SWAG President, Mr. Kwabena Yeboah, speaking at the awards night, said “The year under review was quite challenging. The Passion of the Nation – Football – woefully failed to make any significant impact in continental & World football.”
The Inspector General of Police of the Ghana Police Service, George Akuffo Dampare, was present at the Accra International Conference Center for the SWAG Awards.
Guest of Honour, Ehunabobrim Nana Praha Agyensaim VI, the Paramount Chief of the Assin Owirenkyi Traditional Area (Assin Kushea) also honored the event with his presence.
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare presented the Arm Wrestler of the year award to Grace Mintah, who happens to be a police officer.
Ashley Chucks also performed Bob Marley’s ‘One Love’. There were also Special & Meritorious Awards.
President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kurt Okraku also presented an award at the 47th SWAG AWARDS.
Alphous Kelvin also received the BADMINTON PLAYER OF THE YEAR award.
In attendance to entertain the audience was Comedian, OB Amponsah who surely cracked people up.
Dazzling songstress, Wendy Shay performed her hit songs at the Accra International Conference Center.
Head of Media for IMAX MEDIA, Mr Ernest Ardey was also seated with 442gh boss Mr Kweku Boakye Yiadom.
