The Black Queens of Ghana secured a second consecutive win over the Teranga Lioness of Senegal in an international friendly match on Tuesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Evelyn Badu who plays for Norwegian club Avaldsnes IL scored the only goal in the game to ensure the Black Queens and coach Nora Hauptle keep a perfect win record.
The Senegal were much improved defensively as they managed to shut down attacks from the Black Queens till the 84th minute.
There were early shouts for a penalty when Hasaacas Ladies’ winger Doris Boaduwaa seemed to have been brought down in the Senegalese penalty box but the referee waved for the match to continue.
Despite a strong defensive display from Senegal in the first half, Ghana remained persistent and were eventually rewarded in the 84th minute when Evelyn Badu scored the game-winning goal.
The new coach of the Black Queens, Nora Hauptle, has now won all three games since taking charge of the team.
