Isaac Dogboe, the former WBO Super Bantamweight Champion, has stated that he intends to challenge WBC Champion Emanuel Navarrete in a third bout.
The Mexican boxer has defeated Dogboe twice in his professional career, both times in back-to-back bouts.
Dogboe lost his WBO Super Bantamweight title in the first fight, then fell to him in a rematch a year later.
The two fighters have both increased their weight since their previous match, and Navarrete has added a new belt.
After defeating Joet Gonzalez in a split decision, Dogboe will probably go up against the Mexican boxer who might end up being his mandatory opponent.
The Ghanaian boxer said, “I don’t shy away from a challenge; that is what makes me different from the others. That is why though I lost twice to the same person, the name Isaac Dogboe was still relevant in boxing.
“It’s all about being able to challenge yourself; you can’t say that because I didn’t that the results from this person, I’m going to stay away from him. I am the mandatory challenger, so whoever they bring, I’m ready,” Dogboe said in an interview with an Accra-based TV Station.
If Dogboe is successful in defeating his next opponent in a world title match, he might become a two-time world champion at the age of 27.
