In his eulogy for the late Black Stars winger, former Ghana full-back John Paintsil characterized Christian Atsu as a very joyful person.
He claimed that the late national team hero was incredibly imaginative, much like a movie star.
“He helped a lot of people solve their problems, gave cash out to those in need.
“Atsu’s mind was so good that it could come up with different ideas.
“He was jovial and creative, like a movie star,” John Paintsil told BBC Sport Africa.
In the interview, John Paintsil noted that it is obvious that Ghana and the rest of the world have lost a player who had a wonderful soul.
“We have lost a great soul. He was one in a million because he sometimes put others before himself,” John Paintsil indicated.
Last Saturday, Christian Atsu was found to be dead. Twelve days after the earthquake in Turkey, he was discovered among the ruins of his residence.
His family is working with the government to make funeral arrangements. The one-week anniversary of his passing will be observed on March 4 this year.
