Ghana Premier League side Karela FC’s winger, Philip Flamini, will appear in court on Tuesday, May 4, 2023, after he has been remanded in police custody after being accused of defiling a 13-year-old girl.
According to Max FM’s reporter, Solomon Dominic in Aiyinase, the incident allegedly occurred on Saturday, April 29, and upon investigations, the said player denied the act, but further investigations revealed the player was guilty until the law courts found him guilty.
The 25-year-old will appear at the Ellembelle District Court in the Western Region, and upon thorough investigations, paralegal and social welfare advocate Jonas Kabutey confirmed the incident on MAX FM’s Sports Pack.
Kabutey went on to say the practice is becoming usual in the said area and is peculiar to Karela players.
“The 13-year-old did very well by reporting the incident to the father despite the persistent pressure of the culprit, and this is not the only incident in the area. If I tell you what my investigations have revealed, you will be surprised.
“The small girl was strangled and his pants torn into shreds, so later the player confessed to the act, and with this, he will appear in court Tuesday for final judgment,” he told MAX FM.
The club is reported to have released an official statement on their position. Karela who is placed 11th with 38pts face Aduana Stars on Monday at 3pm ahead the court day.
