Prosper Ogum Narteh, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, has disclosed that overseas teams have expressed interest in his efforts.
The former WAFA manager signed a contract with the Porcupines in September 2021 that is valid until 2023.
The Black Galaxies assistant manager told a local FM station that despite receiving offers, he is happy to be working at Kotoko.
“I have a two-year contract with Kotoko and I will respect it. Although some teams outside Ghana have requested my services, I am for Kotoko and I love serving them,” he told.
Prior to their CAF Champions League campaign the following season, he noted that he believes the squad can retain the majority of the players.
“I now know and understand my players and vice versa. So I want most of them to stay at Kotoko. (The team) going to Africa although I understand the business aspect of football,” Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum said.
Prosper Narteh guided Asante Kotoko to their first league championship since 2014 in his debut season in charge of the Reds.
With three games remaining, Ogum’s team won the 2021–2022 Ghana Premier League(GPL). Kotoko finished the league 11 points ahead of Bechem United, which took second place.
His team led the league with 48 goals scored, 20 goals allowed, and 19 victories. Asante Kotoko will so represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League the following year.
