Seydou Zerbo, the head coach of Asante Kotoko, asserts that the absence of a number of his players due to injuries of varied severity has negatively affected his tactical approach during games in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) .
In their match week 16 contest yesterday, Asante Kotoko’s new acquisition Rashid Nortey scored the game’s first goal with a straightforward tap-in from close range in the 24th minute.
Four minutes later, Cameroonian forward Stephen Mukwala curled a shot into the goal to give his team a double-digit lead.
The Accra Lions did not have the players to mount a comeback in the second half, despite the fact that the two goals at halftime would separate the two teams.
After 90 minutes, Asante Kotoko had a 4-0 victory thanks to goals from Steven Mukwala and Enoch Morisson in the 50th and 57th minutes, respectively.
Speaking after the game Seydou Zerbo said:
“We can’t say much because the players are getting injured all the time. Match after match they’re getting injured,”
“Even you can see today about two players get another injury we have to replace them. We will work on that,”
