David took the witness stand at Michael’s custody case. He said that he wanted Jia to be the one to have Michael back because she was the victim. Dana’s lawyer reminded David that Dana was also a victim because he cheated on her with Jia. After ending their marriage, they now want to take her child away.

Dana’s lawyer asked Jia for a death certificate of her child to prove that she believed her son had died. Jia did not get any documentation so the lawyer made it look like Jia lied about everything.

Meanwhile, Dana continued to strengthen her case by pointing out that Jia had no money to support Michael. Jia had no savings or assets after losing RJ&E. Meanwhile, Dana said that she opened a savings account for Michael to secure his future. Jia and Kai had a fight with Lucy and Dana at the end of the hearing. Jia told Dana that having money was not proof that she was a good mother.

Harry called Jia and said he would testify at the next hearing. He however never showed up and things were looking bleak for Jia. David suddenly showed up after a trip to Cebu. He went there to find a document that would prove that Jia’s child had died. He found a newspaper with a list of casualties from the fire, which also included the name of her child with Jia.

With it, Jia was able to salvage the situation by proving that she believed her child had died. The judge therefore asked to see Michael before making her final judgement. Jia did not want to have Michael see the judge but Dana agreed to it.

Dana told Michael that she would die if he was taken away from her. Michael therefore told the judge that she wanted to stay with Dana because he did not want his mother to die. He also said that it was Dana who told her that.

At the final ruling, the judge decided to cancel Michael’s adoption and give him back to Jia.

Dana was furious as Jia celebrated with Kai, David and Helen. Lucy and Adam asked that they leave but Dana pulled out a gun. She pointed it at Jia and fired but there were no bullets. She then walked away laughing. Jia told Adam that she needed to get her son back before Dana hurt him. Adam said he would bring Michael to her the following day.

Dana rushed home and wanted to run away with Michael. Adam warned her against it and threatened to disown her. Lucy told Dana not to do something stupid or she might end up in jail. Dana did not want to let Michael go because she did not want Jia to be happy. Lucy reminded her that they needed to have money in order to plan their revenge against Jia so she asked Dana not to act out and give Michael back.
