Reports in Kumasi are rife regarding the Chief Executive Officer of defending Ghana Premier League champions Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah’s reign facing stern scrutiny and opposition from the board despite some attempts of certain members to play down the rumors.
The spokesperson of the Asante Kotoko board, Kwadwo Boateng Genfi disclosed that there is no plan to sack the club’s Chief Executive Officer.
Fans of the club are divided, as the popular university fan group, “Porcupine Tertiary” threatens to boycott the remaining premier league matches.
Nana Yaw Amponsah called for calm and unity in an Easter message released by the club today; “As the bible says, a house divided against itself shall not stand. What binds us should be greater than what divides us. We are one people and must learn to agree to disagree.”
Asante Kotoko are 4th on the league table with 39 points from 25 league games, same as their arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak.
